Learn and Lead Event Series

An initiative of the Congregational Development Committee (CDC), each Learn and Lead is a day full of workshops, speakers, and sharing, to help your parish leaders (clergy and lay) learn new tools to improve parish life.

2012 Learn and Lead: Communications

The last Learn and Lead was on February 4th 2012 and focused on Communications. Jesus began a very successful word of mouth communications campaign over 2000 years ago, and we asked people to Imagine what it would have been like if He’d had all the tools to communicate that we do now; websites, newspapers, facebook, blogs, twitter, email, cell phones etc. What could church be like if we maximized our use of these gifts to connect better with our members and the world?

This year's Learn and Lead provided practical, hands-on information so that people could return to their home churches with concrete ideas about how to effectively and cost effectively communicate in a way that strengthens community and reaches outside of it.

The day began with keynote speaker Nancy Davidge, Editor of the Episcopal Church Foundation’s Vestry Papers, and President of the board of the national Episcopal Communicators’ Group.

Nancy was followed by a choice of workshops. Topics and resources from the day's presentations are to your left. 

The 2012 the Learn & Lead event was a guest of AIPSO in Johnston, who graciously invited us to use their facility. Many thanks for so generous a gift! It was a fabulous Saturday.
