World-Wide Anglican Communion
The Official Website of the Anglican Communion contains the latest issues of Anglican World, a Virtual Tour of the Communion, messages from the Archbishop of Canterbury, and much else.
Another best stop for information on the wider Anglican Communion is Anglicans Online. This site contains links to every diocese in the world as well as information on every aspect of the Anglican Church.
Episcopal Church in the United States
The National Offices of the Episcopal Church at 815 Second Ave. in New York are often referred to by the moniker "815". From their home page you can reach just about any agency or organization affiliated with the church. Some of these include:
- The Episcopal Provinces. Province I of the Episcopal Church consists of the seven New England dioceses: Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Western Massachusetts, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island.
- The Episcopal News Service, which is your best choice for late-breaking news from around the church.
- The Church Pension Fund, which secures the retirement of Episcopal Clergy and provides property & casualty insurance for Episcopal properties.
- The Episcopal Church Annual, otherwise known as "The Red Book". For many years this has been the standard yearbook for all things Episcopal. It is now online, with an astonishing amount of information. If you’re looking for any church in the USA, this should be your first stop.
- The Episcopal Clerical Directory makes it easy to look up clergy.

Lectionary Resources
There are actually two websites with complete lectionary information for all Sundays and weekdays, but each presents it in a slightly different way. The Lectionary Page gives the collect, psalm and readings in clear text, ideal for cutting and pasting. It is a very straight-forward resource. The Lectionary is updated every Sunday night with the full text of all readings in various formats and translations. This site is more attractive, and has better integrated and more comprehensive links, but the readings themselves unfortunately have each verse number included in the body of the text.
James Kiefer's Christian Biographies is a one-stop source for information on all Christian Saints and notable persons.
Day by Day is a popular devotional based on the Daily Office Readings and can be read at the Forward Movement Publications home page. |
