College Ministry
In the context of our Diocesan Mission "To live in Christ Jesus...Transform the World," it is the mission of the College Commission to promote and/or provide for:
- pastoral care to students, faculty and staff of Rhode Island's higher education institutions;
- education and formation in the Anglican tradition,
- student growth in applying Christian principles to behavior,
- teaching, research, and administration that is conducted in a way that reflects Christian values,
- clarity of thought and perspective in meeting the challenges, confusion, and excitement of the university environment;
- recognition of God as the source of all wisdom so as to put intellectual activity in the context of spiritual growth,
- students' deeper and broader concept of worship through personal experience and corporate community experience,
- peer mentoring among students in developing communities of spiritual understanding and growth;
- campus community that indicates a vision of God's purpose for the world,
- self-images that envision each person making her/his unique contribution in serving God and others, and
- outreach and linkages between parish and campus communities to reinforce each other's missions in service to God.
