Committees & Governance

The Diocese of Rhode Island is governed by our Constitution and Canons.

Parishes and Missions of the diocese operate individually under Parish By-laws that are in accordance with diocesan and National Canons and the Rhode Island Non-profit Corporation Act.

The Standing Committee acts as the Bishop's council of advice, and assists her in the administration of the ecclesiastical affairs of the diocese.

The Diocesan Council exercises financial and programmatic oversight between formal Conventions of the diocese.
