A renewal movement in the Episcopal Church, Cursillo emphasizes spiritual growth and evangelism. Its primary goal is to bring adult Christians closer to Christ, so that they can then be better disciples for Him. Generating a strong sense of community, its activities include small groups which encourage participants to grow in their piety, study and action, "renewal music" and occasional retreat weekends. The retreats are not the traditional quiet type, but rather focus on active discussion of how God is at work in one's life and discipleship (becoming clearer about what work God has for you).
