The Standing Committee
constitutes the Bishop's Council of Advice and assists the Bishop in administration
of the churches of the diocese and in the preparation for ordination of
clergy and Bishops of the church. The responsibilities of the Standing
Committee are detailed in the Constitution and Canons
of the Diocese.
One responsibility of the Committee is the approval (with the Bishop) of the transfer or encumbrance of church property as stated in Canon XV. The process for this is found in the PROCESS FOR REQUESTS FOR ALIENATION OR ENCUMBRANCE OF PROPERTY. (.pdf file)
