Scheduling
Diocesan
Calendar of Events and Meetings
To schedule a meeting
or event please contact Gloria Williams, Diocesan House Receptionist
and keeper of the diocesan calendar, 274-4500.
The Higgins Room is
located on the ground floor of Diocesan House and is suitable for meetings
of 12 or fewer.
The Diocesan Annex
is available for meetings of groups up to 25 that are directly associated
with the diocese, its churches or affiliated institutions. Please see
the Annex Protocol for more information.
The
Cathedral of St. John (331-4622) has two spaces available for meetings: the Crooker
Room holds approximately 20 comfortably, and Synod Hall, the undercroft
of the Cathedral, can accommodate up to 200 with both floor and bench
seating.
Batch Mail
A package of information
is sent monthly to churches and diocesan leadership.
Its purpose is
-
to promote events and activities sponsored by the Diocese and Rhode Island
parishes
-
to disseminate information of general interest to the Episcopal community
appropriate to parochial channels (newsletters, bulletins, message boards,
etc.)
The Diocese
reserves Batch Mail for items of Diocesan-wide interest in display
or camera-ready formats. We encourage the use of RISEN for press releases and ordinary calendar items,
and may exclude items that do not fit the purpose or circulation of Batch
Mail. If in doubt, contact the Diocesan Office for guidance before
submitting items for circulation.
Circulation and
Distribution
Batch Mail is
sent to the 64 parishes of the Diocese as well as members of the Diocesan
Council (22), the Standing Committee (8), Active Deacons (20) and Diocesan Staff (9)
123 copies of
each item must be submitted for distribution. The Diocese will not copy
materials.
The mailing
label for Batch Mail reads "BATCH MAIL/St. Swithin's". It is
the responsibility of the person who receives the monthly batch mail at
the parish to copy and/or distribute the materials to interested parties
within the parish. Most Batch Mail items, however, will ordinarily be
posted or placed in regular parish communications.
Mailing Schedule
