The Episcopal Church has a long-standing commitment to eradicate racial injustice in the Church and in secular society and to increase understanding and appreciation of peoples and cultures. The Diocese of Rhode Island, working with other dioceses in Province One, has identified resources to assist congregations and diocesan groups in this work. You can find programs and resources here: http://www.province1.org/exploring-diversity-and-nurturing-cultural-competency.
The diocese periodically offers local training programs specifically for clergy and lay leaders. In addition, many or most of the programs offered by the Center for Reconciliation provide ongoing experiences to enhance your understanding of and ability to value different people and cultures. You can find information about those programs at www.cfrri.org.
