Rhode Island Episcopalians are looking to build on the 80th Anniversary Celebration of the Episcopal Peace Fellowship (EPF) that was highlighted by events in Bristol and Providence last November.
The Rhode Island chapter is hosting a gathering at 3 p.m. January 26 at the Church of the Redeemer, 655 Hope Street, Providence, to get acquainted and identify a steering committee to help lead the chapter.
“We need to begin to define our purpose and style,” said the Rev. Dr. Peter Michaelson. “Among the considerations are holding a rally this spring with the new EPF National Executive, Melanie Atha, and identifying ways to make ourselves known and visible on issues of peace and justice — in the public sphere and in congregations.
Coffee will be provided; attendees are invited to bring snacks to share. Attendees are also invited to a Taize prayer service at Redeemer following the meeting, at 5 p.m. For more information, contact Michaelson at firstname.lastname@example.org or 401-780-9618.
