Church of the Beloved

Two years ago a new worshipping community was borne out of a community of people affiliated with the Episcopal Conference Center (ECC) Summer Camp. One cold February night a group gathered to worship in the church building that was formerly Calvary Church in Pascoag, and they have been sharing weekly worship together ever since.

Around 70 people came to the first couple of services at, what was then called, “New Church”, and a community was formed. Quick repairs were made to the building so that it could be used safely and after six months the congregation decided to become Church of the Beloved.

On average 40 people come for worship each week. Service is followed by a warm and inviting fellowship that takes place in the parish hall during dinner. More and more, families from the neighborhood have begun to call Church of the Beloved their worshiping home. The children in the congregation bring an excitement to each service and are always welcome – along with their joyful sounds, that often help fill the worship space with energy.
