Youth Ministry Resources

The Episcopal Church offers a wide variety of resources for youth ministry leaders. Whether you have enough youth to do your own group or are partnering with a nearby Episcopal Church or other denomination, you’ll find helpful resources here:

  • The Episcopal Church has free, downloadable Lesson Plans that Work that include lessons for youth.
  • Church Publishing has books for youth or that are about youth ministry along with curricula materials (most for middle school youth). It is a good place to find books for confirmation or graduation gifts.
  • The YOUTH section on the LeaderResources website has an assortment of long and short-term programs. But LeaderResources is best known for the Journey to Adulthood (J2A) program which is a six year process of spiritual formation for youth and is the most widely used youth ministry program in the Episcopal Church. This section also has several confirmation programs and several shorter programs including MIQRA, a weekend retreat where you read the entire Bible in 72 hours and The Many Faces of God, an intergenerational resource exploring faith traditions.*
  • Virginia Seminary has free download of the Episcopal Youth Curriculum.
